Procedure

Vessels entering the VTS area will receive a recommended anchorage position.

Vessels must contact VTS Gothenburg prior to anchoring to agree on the position and report once they are anchored.

Vessels intending to weigh anchor and depart must call VTS Gothenburg for traffic clearance.

Pilotage 

Pilotage is not required to reach the outer anchorage areas (A, B, or C).

Pilotage is required to reach the inner anchorage areas (Dana or Rivö), depending on the vessel's dimensions and cargo.

Outer anchorage areas

In the area between Vinga and Tistlarna there are three anchorage areas

Anchorage A (alfa), WSW of Trubaduren lighthouse. To be used by large size vessels awaiting berth/orders. Depth 40–60 m.

Anchorage B (bravo), SSE of Trubaduren lighthouse. To be used by small and medium size vessels awaiting berth/orders. Depth 30–40 m.

Anchorage C (charlie), E of Trubaduren lighthouse. To be used for bunkering, crew change, supplies, etc. Depth 20–30 m.

C1-C3: Max LOA 200m, Max draft 10m.

C4-C9: Max LOA 200m, Max draft 12m.

Inner Anchorage Dana Fjord

Dana Fjord, N of Vinga Sand, anchor position marked in the chart as D1, depth 20-35 m, mud.

Well protected for all wind directions except winds from south. To be used for medium size vessels in bad weather.

Rivö Fjord
Rivö Fjord

Inner Anchorage Rivö Fjord

Rivö Fjord, S of Tor Harbour, anchor positions marked in the chart as R1 to R4, depth 11-19 m, mud.

To be used for small size vessels for bunkering and awating berth.
