| The lock i Södertälje is closed on weekdays 1100 - 1900 Local time. This applies until March 31, 2026. During this period the lock will open once a day at 1700 Local time. Maximum vessel length at this opening: 24 meters. |

| The fairway through Södertälje kanal and lock is closed on weekdays (exept hollidays) until December 31, 2026, between 1100 - 1900 Local time. The fairway is closed between 'Mälarhamnen' and 'Igelstaviken'. This applies for vessels exceeding any of the following:

The bridge Mälarbron
Double Bascule Bridge
Vertical clearance between marks on bridge: 15,0 meter, full width 13,8 meter.
Horizontal clearance: 34,9 meter.

Daily opening of Mälarbron and Slussbron on request.
Following exceptions apply:
No opening on weekdays between 07:30–08:30 and 16:00–18:00.

Slussen (The Lock)
Times below apply to southbound traffic towards Saltsjön. Northbound vessels locks immediatly after southbound.
There could be some deviations to the time listed above on holidays and the day before weekends.

Bridge 'Slussbron' and locking towards Lake Mälaren
The lock times may be affected due to ongoing work in the canal / lock and merchant shipping.

Other information
- Northbound sailing yachts with air draught exceeding 15,0m should adjust the passage to the opening times of the bridge Mälarbron.
- Detailed information is available on signs along the canal.
- The whole canal is supervised by camera surveillance from the maneuver tower for the Södertälje kanal.
- Speed limit in the canal is 6 knots.

- The cost for pleasure craft to go through the lock is SEK 320. Charge is paid when going from Lake Mälaren towards the Baltic Sea.
